I have been a retained executive search consultant for more than 20 years, and have had the good fortune of partnering with many wonderful companies in helping them recruit senior executives to their organizations. It can be a painstaking and challenging process, and the urgency/immediacy of the situation sometimes clouds perspective, judgment and decisions.
My hope was that this could be a place apart from that urgency/immediacy. A place where practices, attitudes and beliefs about the recruitment process - and their impact/consequences - could be examined more closely and dispassionately.
Perhaps this might help improve the process, or at least create a better understanding of the opportunities and limitations - and lead to more realistic expectations and less frustration for all involved.
